Construction contract as a foundation of legal activity

Abstract

The construction contract, as a fundamental legal activity establishing links between the contractor and client, is presented. The contract is bilaterally obligatory, formal, financially binding, and named. The legal background of construction contracts is analyzed, its major components are studied, including the price of works, supervision, deviation from design requirements, contingencies, responsibility for defects, and special requirements. Provisions of the Law on changes of and additions to the Law on obligatory relations, when relevant to construction contracts, are also presented.
