Structural addition design for the Euroherc Building in Zagreb

Damir Lazarević, Milutin Anđelić, Josip Atalić

Abstract

The dimensioning, analysis and assembly stages are described for an extremely high addition to a reinforced-concrete multi-storey office building. Due to insufficient bearing capacity of the initial building, the addition was realized using steel with composite plates. The addition partly leans on columns positioned outside of the building plan, which gives a certain air of distinction to this solution. Analytic procedures and significant details of the new structure are described, and activities needed to further strengthen the initial building are presented.
