Testing very high-strength concrete containing volcanic aggregate

Abstract

Authors describe experience gained in determining composition, preparing mixtures, and testing of the very high-strength concrete containing fine-grained volcanic aggregate, up to 8 mm in grain size. Components of concrete mixtures and their properties were defined. Standard samples were used in the testing. Experimental analysis of optimum composition of the very high-strength concrete was conducted. The laboratory testing program, based on mechanical properties of samples taken from a reference concrete mixture, is presented.
