Testing beams and slabs reinforced with FRP bars

Abstract

An experimental testing of concrete beams and slabs reinforced with fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) bars is presented. Two bar types were used: glass fibre bars and carbon fibre bars. Three series of differently reinforced beam samples, and two series of slabs samples reinforced in two different ways, were prepared. Each of the total of five series contained three samples. The first was tested by means of loading-unloading cycles until failure, and the other two were tested monotonously until failure.
