Interaction diagrams for slender-column dimensioning

Abstract

Boundary conditions for column slenderness are presented in accordance with Croatian, European and American regulations, for cases when slender columns must be designed taking into account an increase in internal forces due to column deformation. Possible forms of failure of slender reinforcedconcrete elements are described, and an approximate design of slender elements is given as based on the second order theory "column model". An approximate design procedure for slender column design according to EC2 is also described, and interaction diagrams based on this procedure are presented.
