Nonlinear model of space structures and its application on seismic resistance

Abstract

Materially and geometrically nonlinear numerical model of space frame structures is presented. The eometrical nonlinearity covers loss of stability through buckling, screwing or protrusion of girder elements, and the material nonlinearity follows the stress-strain state of each section through the model of distributed plasticization. The load is increased until failure, and can be applied in two phases, which is practical for separate simulation of vertical and horizontal action.
