Wind load - a meteorological basis for Croatian standards

Abstract

Present possibilities for calculating reference (comparative) wind speeds in the territory of the Republic of Croatia, taking into account available measurement information and the complexity of current patterns, are presented. Expected maximum ten-minute wind velocities are estimated based on the data obtained by continual measurement of wind speed and direction at 21 weather stations. Investigations enabling preparation of a professional and technologically justified meteorological data base for establishment of Croatian standards are proposed...
