Laboratory testing of angle flange cleats in bending

Abstract

The laboratory testing of four types of angle flange cleats in bending is described. At that, original modifications of the angle flange cleat with strengthening rib are also tested. The existing and originally developed models for estimating resistance and stiffness of tested types of angle flange cleats are evaluated. The adequacy of the proposed strengthening, and the acceptability of the proposed models, is emphasized. Detailed probabilistic analyses are recommended for proper proposal of optimum models.
