Relaxation method in structural design

Zlatko Maglajlić

Abstract

Iterative procedures for solving linear algebraic equation systems, and the method for solving nonlinear structural problems, are briefly presented. The relaxation method used for solving linear problems has been adapted for solving nonlinear problems, depending on the type of problem. The method enables us to choose whether the material and geometrical nonlinearity will be performed separately or simultaneously. The method can also be used for solving nonlinear problems in other engineering applications.
