Analysis of ductile structures resistant to seismic action

Abstract

A modern approach to the design and dimensioning of ductile structures resistant to seismic action is presented. The bearing capacity method, as an integrated method of analysis, with the dimensioning and shaping of reinforcement details for basic structural elements, is used. This method enabled definition of control mechanisms for the occurrence of plastic hinges, with the delimited hierarchy of their occurrence, and predictable controlled behaviour during analysis of seismic action.
